TAMARA KUSOVAC

For decades, he has been painting on canvas, glass, ceramics, wood, furniture, making Easter eggs, souvenirs with Belgrade motifs for the Kalemegdan Fortress Gallery; he is the ideological creator of the figure of the owl – the guardian of the house, as well as the founder of a new direction in painting, when critics called him an urban naive.
Tamara Kusovac’s works resonate with fullness of life, dynamic music of colors and sophistication of feminine artistic expression. Shapes and surfaces are filled with fantastic worlds that open the door to the beauty of creation as a procedure for oneself and enchanting speech whose source is naturalness, sensuality and sincerity. In her new creative chapter, she replaced her long-term orientation towards architecture in works, both as a thematic content and as an artistic and constructive means of controlling always well-balanced zones on one surface, with an abstract image that is still symbolically and materially connected to figuratively with individual motifs.
