TAMARA KUSOVAC

Tamara Kusovac, designer and painter, was born in 1970 in Belgrade, where she lives and works. She graduated from the Higher School of Fine and Applied Arts in 1992 in Belgrade in the class of Prof. Batomir Barugdzic. She worked for twenty years in the company Dekus for the production of furniture as an interior consultant, where she also painted objects.

For decades, he has been painting on canvas, glass, ceramics, wood, furniture, making Easter eggs, souvenirs with Belgrade motifs for the Kalemegdan Fortress Gallery; he is the ideological creator of the figure of the owl – the guardian of the house, as well as the founder of a new direction in painting, when critics called him an urban naive.

Tamara Kusovac’s works resonate with fullness of life, dynamic music of colors and sophistication of feminine artistic expression. Shapes and surfaces are filled with fantastic worlds that open the door to the beauty of creation as a procedure for oneself and enchanting speech whose source is naturalness, sensuality and sincerity. In her new creative chapter, she replaced her long-term orientation towards architecture in works, both as a thematic content and as an artistic and constructive means of controlling always well-balanced zones on one surface, with an abstract image that is still symbolically and materially connected to figuratively with individual motifs.

He won the award at the souvenir competition in the city of Dimitrovgrad. For several years she ran an author’s column in the magazine Moj stan. Since 1996. he is a permanent associate of the Cultural Center of Belgrade.

She had several group exhibitions and five solo ones. He is the organizer and participant in humanitarian exhibitions (help to the Japanese people after the tsunami 2011), several times the organizer and participant of the exhibition to help children suffering from malignant diseases Nurdor. Donor of hand-painted furniture to socially endangered families in the show Radna akcija (TV Prva), as well as constant work in support of Belhospice.
